  Cricket for Blind: Odisha finish Nagesh Trophy runners-up

Odisha finished runners-up in the Nagesh Trophy 3rd National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind, losing to Andhra Pradesh by 80 runs in the final at Altiore Sports Green Park Ground in Bengaluru today. Andhra Pradesh became champions for the second successive time.

Opting to bat, Andhra Pradesh rode on an unbeaten 132 by captain D Venkateswara Rao to compile massive total of 246 for three. Tapan Kumar Gouda was the only Odisha bowler to take wicket. On the other hand, the bowling of Odisha captain Mohammad Jafar Iqbal cost the team dear as he conceded 70 runs in his four overs.

 

In reply, Odisha could make 166 for five in the stipulated 20 overs. Sukhram Majhi was the top scorer with an unbeaten 52, while Nakula Badanayak and Pankaj Bhue contributed 40 and 35 runs respectively.

Andhra Pradesh allrouonder D Venkateswara Rao was adjudged the man of the match. Karnataka Sports Minister KC Narayana Gowda handed over the trophies to the champion and runners-up teams.
