One-day format of the OCA Women Cricket League concluded today with Odisha Yellow finishing at the top of the table, winning four of their five matches. In their fifth and last match, Yellow rode on a four-wicket haul by GM Alakananda and an unbeaten half-century by Sumitra Sahoo to beat Odisha Orange by five wickets.
Odisha Red prevailed over Odisha Purple by 56 runs and Odisha Green drubbed Odisha Violet by 10 wickets in two other matches today. International Madhuri Meheta led Odisha Red to the emphatic win with an unbeaten 66. Her teammates Sushree A Singh and Abhilipsa Pradhan shone with the ball, capturing four wickets each.
Subhra Nirjharini Swain was the main architect of the Odisha Green win, bagging three wickets for three runs and hitting an unbeaten 43. Odisha Red, Green and Violet finished joint second with three wins each. Among the six teams in the fray, Odisha Orange registered two wins, while Odisha Purple ended campaign without any win. The One-Day format will be followed by T20 format with same six teams playing another 15 league matches from January 22 to 27.
