India U-16 National Boys Football Team, featuring two players from Odisha, ended its tour of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a winning note, beating UAE U-16 Boys Team 1-0 today. Odisha mid-fielders Ranjan Soren and Aula Siba Prasad were members of the Indian U-16 team.
As per information available, India U-16 team won two matches and lost one during the tour. They started the tour with a 1-0 win over Liwa FC U-19 team and then suffer a 3-0 drubbing against UAE U-16 boys team. One does not know whether the Indian team played its scheduled match against Sharjah FC or not.
The blue colts were supposed to play their first match on January 15 against Al Hamriyah FC but the match had to be cancelled because of a few Coronavirus cases in the opposition camp. Four players in their team had tested positive. The Indian team management then arranged a last-minute friendly with Liwa FC.
RESULTS:
January 15 (At Spanish Soccer School Ground, Sports City): India U-16 (Ebindas Yesudasan 71st) beat Liwa FC U-19 1-0.
January 21 (At UAE FA Stadium): India U-16 lost to UAE U-16 (Youseef Ibrahim Balushi 10th, Mohammed Saeed Al-Maamari 76th, Mohamed Abdelsalam Issa 89th) 0-3.
January 24 (At UAE FA Stadium): India U-16 (Suhail Ahmed Bhat 79th) beat UAE U-16 1-0.
