India settled with silver medal in the 1st SAFF U-15 Women Championship after losing to host Bangladesh in the final by a solitary goal at Mohammad Mostofa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka today. Shamsun Nahar scored the all-important goal for Bangladesh in the 41st minute.
Led by Odisha defender Bannya Kabiraj, India qualified for the final, winning two mataches and losing one at the league stage. They beat Bhutan 3-0 and Nepal 10-0 in their first two matches, but lost to Bangladesh 0-3 in the third and last game.
As many as four players from Odisha represented Indian in this championship. Other three Odisha players were: defenders Sarita Soreng, Susmita Tanty and forward Niketa Bishi.

19 December, 2017: India (Lynda Kom Serto 4th, 31st; Sunita Munda 23rd, 62nd, 86th; Santhiya 40th; Priyanka Devi 1st, 52nd, 75th; Pusparani Chanu 69th) beat Nepal 10-0.
21 December, 2017: India lost to Bangladesh (Anuching Mogini 32nd, Shamsun Nahar 45th(P), Monika Chakma 52nd) 0-3.
24 December, 2017 (Final): India lost to Bangladesh (Shamsun Nahar 41st) 0-1.
