Odisha para-sprint ace Jayanti Behera reached a memorable milestone of her career, bagging a golden treble for the fifth successive time in National Para Athletics Championship today. She clinched her fifth treble by winning the 100m, 200m and 400m gold medal in women T-47 category of the 19th edition of National championship at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
Jayanti completed the treble by winning the 100m and 200m gold medals today with timing of 13.11 seconds and 26.49 seconds respectively. She captured the 400m gold yesterday, clocking 59.43 seconds.
Jayanti is part of an 11-member squad, which is being representing Odisha in the ongoing National championship. This is the first national or international competition for Jayanti in nearly two years. She stayed away from competitions for so long due to Covid Pandemic.
She is looking forward to do well in Tokyo Para Olympic Games. Visually impaired cricket internationals Pankaj Bhue and Sukhram Majhi are also representing Odisha National Para Athletics Championship.
