  U-16 Inter-Dist Cricket: Cuttack teams suffer upsets

Formidable Cuttack-A and Cuttack-B teams suffered upsets in respective preliminary league matches of the Inter-District U-16 Boys Cricket Tournaemnt at different grounds in Bhubaneswar today. Keonjhar rode on impressive allround performance by Bittu Thakur to beat Cuttack-A by two wickets, while a four-wicket haul by Sahil Khan helped Bhadrak get the better of Cuttack-B by nine wickets.

Jajpur, KIIT, Sundargarh and Dhenkanal posted wins in four other matches of the day. Among other notable performers, KIIT bowler Praveen Kumar Pradhan bagged seven wickets for 13 runs against Kandhamal and Sundargarh Aman Yadav slammed a sparkling 136 against Nabarangpur.
 

RESULTS (27 July, 2021):

Match 7 (At CV Raman Ground, Bhubaneswar): Cuttack-A 118/10 in 37 overs (Sambit K Beja 31, Swadhin K Patra 26, Baisnav Behera 22; Md Faizan 3/22, Bittu Thakur 3/19) lost to Keonjhar 119/8 in 40.4 overs (Bittu Thakur 56*; Swadhin K Patra 3/21, Piyush R Mantri 2/20) by 2 wickets.

Match 8 (At Hi-Tech Ground, Bhubaneswar): Paradip 31/10 in 18.3 overs (Prakash C Boitai 4/10, Sayed R Hosen 3/10) lost to Jajpur 32/0 in 8.1 overs (Aditya Jena 14) by 10 wickets.

Match 9 (At Centurion Ground, Jatni): KIIT 203/10 in 48.2 overs (Praveen K Pradhan 25), Arnav Satpathy 24, Siddhiman N Mishra 20; Subham Nayak 3/26, Pritam K Samal-3/58, Ayush K Mishra 2/33) beat Kandhamal 32/10 in 20.1 overs (Praveen K Pradhan 7/13, Arnav Satpathy 2/14) by 171 runs.

Match 10 (At Paramount Ground, Bhubaneswar): Cuttack-B 52/10 in 27.4 overs (Sahil Khan 4/13, Chiranjeev Behera 3/18) lost to Bhadrak 54/1 in 16.3 overs (Deepak Nayak-23*, Abhishek Senapati 1/14) by 9 wickets.

Match 11 (At Town Club Ground, Bhubaneswar): Sundargarh 280/9 in 50 overs (Aman Yadav 136); Adarsh K Samal 3/53,Tarini P Pattnaik 2/39) beat Nabarangpur 84/10 in 36.3 overs (Abhishek Ray 33; Shahzeb Zia 4/11, Abhishek Singh 4/20) by 196 runs.

Match 12 (At Khordha Ground): Malkangiri 59/10 in 20.0 overs (Rajib Behera 4/7, Rohit Pradhan 4/20) lost to Dhenkanal 60/6 in 16.4 overs (Deepak Burman 2/15, Prafulla Madi 2/19) by 4 wickets.
