Odisha ace Kabir Hans added one more double crown to his trophy cabinet, winning both singles and doubles titles in the AITA Men 1 Lakh Tennis Tournament, held at Durga Public School in Solan, Himachal Pradesh from 18 to 22 October 2021.

With this double crown, the total number of AITA titles for Hans went up to 18. The 18 tiltles include 11 singles and seven doubles. He also has one singles and two doubles ITF Junior titles in his kitty.

Bhubaneswar youth Hans emerged singles champion, beating N Calvin Golmei of Chandigarh in the lop-sided final 6-1, 6-2 today. The singles title assumed added importance as he started his campaign as a qualifier.

Earlier in the men doubles final yesterday, Hans and his partner Deepender Grewal from Haryana beat Raghav Jaisinghani (Madhya Pradesh) and Neeraj Yashpaul (Chandigarh) 6-3, 6-4 to emerge champions.

An alumnus of KIIT International School, Kabir is currently pursuing BBA on sports quota at KIIT University.
