Odisha cuesports international Ashutosh Padhy won his fourth State senior billiards crown, defeating defending champion Kunal Agarwal by 4-1 frames in the all-Bhubaneswar final match at the Cuttack Club in Cuttack on 7 November 2021.
Ashutosh achieved the feat at the 27th Odisha State Senior Billiards & Snooker Championship, which is being organised by Billiards & Snooker Association of Odisha (BSAO) from November 5.
After losing the first frame, Ashutosh won four frames in a row to regain the title, which he had won three times earlier in 2013, 2015 and 2016. Experienced campaigner Kunal, also a three-time champion, settled as runner-up this time. Only five players participated in the senior billiards event.
The Senior Billiards Championship will be followed by Senior Snooker Championship from November 7 to 14. Title winners of the State championship would represent Odisha in forthcoming National championship.

SENIOR BILLIARDS: Quarterfinals (Nov 5): Chiranjeev Singh beat Rohit Sharma 2-0 (101-54, 103-33). Ashutosh Padhy beat Avinash Mahapatra 2-0 (102-45, 100-21). Subrat Das beat Sameer Ali 2-0 (100-26, 100-31).
Semifinals (Nov 6): Kunal Agarwal beat Chiranjeev Singh 3-0 (151-51, 152-63, 151-135). Ashutosh Padhy beat Subrat Das 3-2 (152-69, 145-153, 152-149, 121-151, 151-128).
Final (Nov 7): Ashutosh Padhy beat Kunal Agarwal 4-1 (60-151, 151-41, 151-65, 153-77, 152-80).
