  Mangala crowned FAO Inter-Club Futsal champs

Mangala Club, Cuttack emerged champions in the 1st FAO Inter-Club Futsal Championship, defeating Rising Student Club, Cuttack by 3-2 goals in the final at the Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium in KIIT University, Bhubaneswar today. The tournament was organised by Football Association of Odisha (FAO) with the support of Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha and KIIT Unitersity.

As many as 12 teams from across the State participated in the league-cum-knockout tournament, which featured a total of 22 matches. DSYS Joint-Secretary Sailendra Kumar Jena was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. FAO Joint-Secretary Avijit Paul and KIIT Sports Director Dr Gaganendu Dash were present on the occasion.

 

The trophies and prizes were distribution Odisha Cricket Association president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty at the closing ceremony. FAO secretary Asirbad Behera and treasurer Bhakta Ballav Das were present. Champions Mangala Club and runners-up Rising Student Club received cash prizes of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

September 28:

Match 1: Mangala Club, Cuttack beat KIIT University, Bhubaneswar 15-2.
Match 2: Kalinga Nagar Sports Academy, Jajpur drew with Bichakundi Club, Keonjhar 7-7.
Match 3: Bidanasi Club, Cuttack beat Kishore Club, Bhuabneswar 4-3.
Match 4: Odisha Sports Hostel, Bhubaneswar beat Rajkanika Athletics Association, Kendrapada 9-3.
Match 5: Rising Student Club, Cuttack beat Unit-VI Athletic Association, Bhubaneswar 5-1.
Match 6: Ramdhun Club, Sonepur beat Shri Nilachakra Sports Club, Puri 8-3.
September 29:
Match 7: Mangala Club, Cuttack beat Kalinga Nagar Sports Academy, Jajpur 10-3. Babul Rout scored 5 goals for Mangala.
Match 8: KIIT University, Bhubaneswar beat Bichakundi Club, Keonjhar 14-2. Md Afrid scored 5 goals for KIIT.
Match 9: Bidanasi Club, Cuttack beat Odisha Sports Hostel, Bhuabneswar 6-3. Rajesh Naik scored 3 goals for Bidanasi.
Match 10: Kishore Club, Bhubaneswar beat Rajkanika Athletic Association, Kendrapada 6-2. Ashim Dung Dung scored 3 goals for Kishore.
Match 11: Rising Student Club, Cuttack beat Shri Nilachakra Sports Club, Puri 9-2. Biki Sethy scored 3 goals for Rising Student.
Match 12: Unit–VI Athletic Association, Bhubaneswar beat Ramdhun Club, Sonepur 8-2. Bijay Kumar Barik scored 3 goals for Unit-VI.
September 30:
Match 13: Mangala Club, Cuttack beat Bichakundi Club, Keonjhar 13-2.
Match 14: KIIT University, Bhubaneswar beat Kalinga Nagar Sports Academy, Jajpur 11-3.
Match 15: Odisha Sports Hostel beat Kishore Club, Bhubaneswar 1-0.
