Odisha beat Chhattisgarh by 3 wickets, via VJD Method, in a fourth-round Elite Group-A match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy U-19 Men One-Day Cricket Tournament at Cricket Stadium, Sector-16, Chandigarh today. This was the second win for Odisha and their will play their fifth and last league match against Andhra Pradesh on October 4.
Odisha made a major change in the team, replacing captain Surya Mohapatra with Ashirwad Swain. The latter played both as captain and wicketkeeper. Saideep Mohapatra, Sushil Barik, Niranjan Gouda and Shresth Singh took two wickets each as Odisha dismissed Chhattisgarh, who chose to bat after winnings the toss, for 148.
In reply, Odisha rode on a 48-ball 40 by opener Dinesh Majhi and a useful 26 by Saideep Mohapatra to clinch victory, losing seven wickets in the process.
