India beat Bangladesh by 124 run in the first of their three-match T20 bilateral series at Faith Cricket Club in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh today. Prakash Jayaramiah and D Venkateshwara Rao scored a century each for the winning team.

Guna MP KP Singh Yadav declared the series open. Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) General Secretary E John David was present on the occasion.

Opting to bat after captain Sunil Ramesh won toss, India lost the first three quick wickets. However, a huge partnership between Prakash Jayaramiah and D Venkateshwara Rao helped them post a massive total of 278 for three in 20 overs.

Jayaramiah hit an unbeaten 129 of 62 balls with the help of 26 boundaries. D Venkateshwara Rao scored 101 of 42 balls with the help of two sixes and 18 boundaries.

In reply, Bangladesh started chase with a good note but were not able score faster due to the disciplined bowling by the Indian bowlers. Bangladesh were restricted to score 154 for five in 20 overs. Jayaramiah was declared the Man of the Match. He received a cash prize of Rs 5000. Odisha allrounder Nakul Badanayak was part of the Indian playing eleven.
