Odisha FC part ways with Head Coach Ramirez
14 Jan 2022

Odisha FC today announced that it had terminated the contract of Head Coach Kiko Ramirez with immediate effect. This has been a very difficult decision and not one that the Club owners and management have taken lightly, a Club release said.

After lengthy deliberation and consideration amongst the technical committee of the club, it was decided a change is needed now to give the Club time to improve performances and results this season. The Club would like to thank Kiko for his efforts and wish him the best for the future. The Club shall make further announcements in due course."

Kiko Ramirez took charge of the Kalinga Warriors at the start of the season. Under the Spaniard, Odisha made a bright start and won their first couple of matches of the season. However, they could not consolidate their good start. The team managed to win only two out of the next eight matches.

With 13 points from 10 matches, Odisha FC now stand in ninth place in the league table. As the playoffs started to slip away from Odisha FC, the club management took the tough decision by parting ways with Kiko Ramirez.

MEDIA MANAGER PATI QUITS: The exit of Ramirez is the second of its kind in two days with Media Manager Chiranjibi Pati ending his journey with the Bhubaneswar-based club on January 13.

Pati, who hails from Cuttack, created very good relationship with the media fraternity during his 26-month-long stint before leaving. A promising sports journalist of Odisha, Pati will be starting a second innings at cricbuzz.com from January 14.
