Odisha para-shuttler Deep Ranjan Bisoyee achieved the biggest success of his career at the Uganda Para Badminton International in Kampala, winning the mens SL3-SL4 doubles gold medal with a sensational win in the final today. Bisoyee and his Indian partner Mohammad Arwaz Ansari fought back from a game down to stun the World No 1 Indian pair of Pramod Bhagat and Manoj Sarkar 10-21, 22-20, 21-15.
Odisha star Bhagat, however, failed to live up to his reputation as World and Paralympic champion as he suffered defeats in all of his three finals and settled for silver medals. In the mens singles SL3 final, doubles partner Manoj Sarkar beat Bhagat 21-19, 21-16 to bag the gold medal.
