In reply, Odisha were bowled out for 253 to concede a lead of 199 runs. Forced to follow on, Odisha folded up for 111 in their second innings to suffer the innings defeat. Jharkhand bowler Manishi destroyed the Odisha batting line up, bagging eight wickets in the first innings and 11 in the match.
Amidst the crushing defeat, three players put up notable performance for Odisha. Among them, Aashirwad Swain hit 109 (238 balls, 18x4) in the first innings, while Debasish Samantray slammed 61 (174 balls, 8x4).
Swain and Samantray were associated in a solid partnership of 156 runs for the second wicket. Among Odisha bowlers, Satyakam Bharadwaj was most successful, taking four wickets for 119 runs. Odisha will next meet Madhya Pradesh from March 29 to April 1.
