Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated two international sportspersons of the State, shooter Shriyanka Sadangi and para-athlete Jayanti Behera, at his residence, Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar today. He lauded the two athletes for their success and inspiring other players.

The CM said they had brought glory to Odisha and hoped for more success in the coming days. Patnaik also presented cash award of Rs 2 lakh to Shriyanka and Rs 15 lakh to Jayanti.

Shriyanka recently won a bronze medal in the 50m rifle 3 position at the ISSF World Cup shooting competition in Cairo. She is also the current National Shooting Champion.

Jayanti won three medals at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Dubai. She clinched bronze medals in the 400 and 100 meters, and a silver medal in the 200 meters.

Both the players praised the vision and initiative of the Chief Minister for improving the sports infrastructure and sports in the state. The two players also took selfie with the Chief Minister.

Secretary to Chief Minister & 5T, V Karthikeyan Pandian, and Sports Secretary Vineel Krishna were present on the occasion.
