Sports Hostel, Bhubaneswar defeated Sports Authority of India (B) 5-3 to march into the finals earlier on March 29. Earlier, Sports Hostel, Bhubaneswar beat Jai Bharat Hockey Academy 6-0 in their fourth and last Pool-A league match, courtesy a hat-trick from Neha Lakra, to advance to the semifinals on March 26. Sports Hostel, Bhubaneswar emerged Pool-A toppers with 10 points from four maches with a goal difference of 11. They scored 16 goals and conceded five.
The 20-member Sports Hostel, Bhubaneswar team was led by Rojita Kujur. Olympian Lajrus Barla was the Head Coach of the team. The first phase of the tournament was launched at the Major Dhyanchand Stadium in New Delhi last December. Jointly organized by SAI and Hockey India, the second phase took place in SAI Lucknow last month; the final phase venue also remained the same.
