  Jayanti grabs second gold, silver for Debaraj

Odisha Para sprint queen Jayanti Behera clinched a double in the 20th National Para Athletics Championship at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, adding the 400m gold today to the 100m yellow metal she had won yesterday. She won both the gold in women T-47 category.

Jayanti stood first in the 400m race, clocking 1:00.42. She is optimistic of ending her campaign with a golden treble by winning the 200m race on the concuding day of the championship.

 

Odisha pocketed another medal on the penultimate day with Debaraj Behera, along with his guide runner Sagar Kumar Swain, securing silver in 400 metre men T-11 category. He finished the race with a time of 1:0352.

With the two medals today, the total number of medals for Odisha increased to five. The five medals include three gold, one silver and one bronze.

OTHER ODISHA RESULTS (March 29): Kamala Kanta Nayak: Finished fifth in men 800m T-53 (3:18.40). Lingaraj Rautara: Finished eighth in men 100m T-13 (13.40). Niklas Pradhan: Finished fifth in men 100m T-46 (11.91). Prafulla Kumar Khandayatray: Finished fourth in men shot put F-53 (7.79). Kunilata Barik: Finished third in women 800m T-54 (4:41.04).
