Odisha para sprint icon Jayanti Behera clinched a golden treble to be adjudged as the Best Woman Athlete of the 20th National Para Athletics Championship, which concluded at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar today. Host Odisha bagged a total of seven medal in the four-day championship.
Jayanti completed the treble, winning the women 200m gold in T-47 category with a time of 26.69 seonds. She had claimed her first two gold medals in 100m and 400m sprints.
Odisha won their seventh and last medal today with Suchitra Parida finishing third in the women javelin T-55 category.
Haryana secured the first place in State medal tally, followed by Delhi in 2nd place and Rajasthan in 3 rd place. Uttar Pradesh was awarded as the Best Disciplined Team of the Championship.
Union Steel & RD Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and handed over the trophies. Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) President Deepa Mailk was present on the occation.
