  Dutee wins National Fed Cup Senior 100m gold

Odisha woman Olympic sprint star Dutee Chand won the 100m gold medal, clocking 11.49 seconds on the second day of the 25th National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Competition at CH Muhammed Koya Stadium in Calicut, Kerala on 3rd April 2022.

This was the first and only medal for Odisha in the five-day competition, which concluded today. As many as 10 athletes represented Odisha in this meet. Bhubaneswar-based Reliance Foundation Odisha Athletics High Performance Centre also fielded a 10-member squad, consisting of athletes mostly from other States. But the Odisha trainees of the HPC failed to win any medal.

ODISHA RESULTS: Dutee Chand (Gold in women 100m, 11.49), Bighnaraj Miridia (Finished 5th in Heat 2, Men 400m, 49.04s), Namita Pradhan (Finished 9th in women 1500m, 5:23.72), Jauna Murmu (Did Not Finish in Women 400m), Swadhin Majhi (Finished 5th in men high jump, 2.10m), A Graceson Jeeva (Finished 4th in men 110m hurdles, 14.67s), Sabita Toppo (Finished 8th in women long jump, 5.60m), Manisha Merel (Finished 9th in women long jump, 5.33m), Pragyan Prasanti Sahu (Finished 4th in women 400m hurdles, 1:00.27), Susmita Tigga (Finished 4th in women 3000m steeplechase, 11:23.10).
