Versatile Odisha women international and three-time National champion Anupama Swain secured bronze medal in 52kg category of the 6th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship in Manama, Bahrain on 31 March 2022.
Employee of Odisha Police, Anupama had secured one silver medal in the 5th Asian Championship Ju-Jitsu Championship, held in Abu Dhabi in September 2021. She also has the credit of winning ju-jitsu gold medal in Thailand Open and bronze in World Martial Art Mastership.
The Asian Championship served as the final selection trial for the 2022 Asian Games. Anupama also has the credit of winning international medals in karate, powerlifting and state medal in shooting. She gave the credit of her success to coach and mentor Hari Prasad Pattanayak.
