Odisha international markswoman Shriyanka Sadangi added one more feather to her cap, winning bronze medal in the 50m rifle-3 positions mixed team event at the ISSF World Cup in Cairo, Egypt today. The Indian pair of Shriyanka and Akhil Sheoran defeated Austria by a score of 16-10 to win the bronze medal match.
This was the 33rd international medal for Shriyanka, who is now doing her PHD at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar. The 33 international medals include eight gold, 16 silver and nine bronze.
Indian women shooters continue their stellar performance in the ongoing ISSF World, bagging five medals today. The Indian team of Rahi Sarnobat, Isha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan won the gold medal in the womens 25m pistol team event. The Indian team won the third gold in the tournament with a 17-13 win over Singapore in a thrilling final.
Earlier, the Indian women team also won a gold medal in the 10m air pistol team event. Isha Singh, Niveta P and Ruchita Vinerkar were in that team, who won the medal by defeating Germany.
Isha has so far added three medals in her name. Earlier, she also won a gold medal in the women 10m air pistol team event and a silver medal in the women 10m air pistol individual event.
India is at the second position in the medal tally with five medals. For India, Saurabh Chaudhary won the gold medal in the mens 10m air pistol, while Isha Singh won the silver medal in the womens 10m air pistol.
