Odisha swimming international Pratyasa Ray won her second silver medal in the ongoing 2nd Khelo India University Games (KIUG), finishing second in women 50 meter backstroke in Bengaluru today. Representing Utkal University, Pratyasa claimed the silver medal with a timing of 32.67 seconds.
Pratyasa Ray, who trains at the Odisha JSW Swimming High Performance Centre in Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, had bagged her first silver medal in 100 meter backstroke two days ago.
The second silver by Pratyasa was the overall seventh medal for Odisha universities in the ongoing KIUG. The seven medals include one gold, four silver and two bronze. KIIT Deemed to be University has been the most successful from Odisha so far, securing a total of four medals (one gold, one silver and two bronze).
Besides KIIT and Utkal, Berhampur University has been the third from Odisha to win a medal at the KIUG. International woman weightlifter Pramila Krisani captured the lone medal for Berhampur four days ago. The only gold medal has been bagged by woman international lifter Sneha Soren (KIIT).
