Balasore completed the six-team Super League line-up of the Kalahandi Cup Senior Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament, defeating Puri by seven wickets in the Eliminator at Ravenshaw Univesity Ground-1 in Cuttack today.

Balasore joined Bhubaneswar-A, East Coast Railway, Cuttack-A, Jharsuguda and Bhadrak in the Super League, which would be played in multiple formats, the schedule of which would by announced Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) later.

The preliminary league phase of Kalahandi Cup for the domestic season 2022-23 featured 99 matches in Diamond, Gold and Silver groups, which were played across different venues in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khordha among 37 affiliated units of OCA.

RESULT (6 May 2022):

Match 99 (Eliminator: At Ravenshaw Univesity Ground-1): Puri 116/10 in 29.2 overs (Sanat K Singhdeo 47; Sarbeswar Mohanty 3/17, Shekhar Majhi 3/21, Nauttam Bhanja 2/20) lost to Balasore 121/3 in 21.2 overs (Nirbishankar Barik 57*, Dibyashakti Chakraborty 38*) by 7 wickets. PoM: Shekhar Majhi.
