Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today unveiled the official logo of the FIH Hockey Mens World Cup 2023 at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium today. The World Cup is scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from 13 to 29 January 2023.

Hockey India and its official partner Odisha will host the marquee event for the second consecutive time in the country after successfully conducting the event in 2018.

"It is an honour and delight for me to unveil the logo of the FIH Hockey Mens World Cup for the second consecutive time," expressed Chief Minister Patnaik after unveiling the official logo.

The 15th edition of the FIH Hockey Mens World Cup will be staged in two cities Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, where the country`s largest hockey stadium is being constructed. The new world-class stadium will have a seating capacity of 20,000.

"We are thrilled that there will be two venues this time _ Bhubaneswar and Rourkela. The 2018 FIH Mens World Cup gave us all memories that we still cherish to this day and the 2023 World Cup will be even more exciting and unforgettable. Odisha looks forward to welcoming global hockey fans and top teams from across the world to participate in the prestigious tournament,” the Chief Minister stated.

On the occasion, Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra, President, International Hockey Federation (FIH) said, "The reveal of the logo is one of the important milestones on the road to the 2023 FIH Hockey Mens World Cup. A wonderful show awaits athletes and fans in January next year as the best teams of the world will be in action."

Hockey India President Gyanendro Ningombam also extended his gratitude to the Chief Minister of Odisha. During the event, the Chief Minister released balloons to mark the occasion.

The event was attended by Odisha Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera, Odisha Hockey Promotion Council Chairman Dilip Tirkey. India and Germany men teams who were present based in Bhubaneswar for their FIH Hockey Pro League matches also posed for group photographs at the event.
