Odisha Paralympic and World champion Pramod Bhagat settled for mens singles SL3 silver medal in the 4-Nations Para Badminton International 2022 in Dublin, Ireland today. His statemate Deep Ranjan Bisoyee bagged bronze medal in mens singles SL4.
Top seed Bhagat suffered an upset in the final when he lost to second seed Daniel Bethell of England in the final 17-21, 9-21 in 50 minutes. Earlier in the semifinals, Bhagat Daisuke Fujihara of Japan 21-15, 21-15. The Odisha star reached the semifinals by winning both his matches in Group A league.
Bhagat started his campaign with 21-8, 21-9 win over Dimitar Pavlov of Bulgaria. In his second match, Bhagat faced stiff fight against Daisuke Fujihara before winning 21-16, 13-21, 23-21.
Bisoyee settled for bronze medal by losing his semifinal match against top seed Lucas Mazur (France) 11-21, 7-21. Earlier in the quarterfinals, Bisoyee got walk-over against third seed Rickard Nilsson of Sweden.
Bhubaneswar shuttler Bisoyee reached quarterfinals with one win and one loss in Group-A league. He beat Nils Boening of Germany 21-17, 21-11 and then went down to Lucas Mazur 10-21, 5-21.
