Election of office-bearers of Odisha Athletics Association (OAA) will be conducted at its Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to be held at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on 11 September 2022. This was decided in the Council Meeting of OAA, held at the Council Hall of Odisha Olympic Association, Barabati Stadium, Cuttack today.

According to an OAA press release, the elections will be held a four-year term (2022-2026). The last date of the filling of nomination was decided as 5 September 2022.

OAA President G Srinibas Patnaik presided over the Council meeting. Secretary Asirbad Behera and all council members of the State Association were present in the meeting.

The OOA President was felicitated in the meeting of becoming the Vice-President of Athletics Federation of India (AFI) recently in the last Annual General Meeting held in Changigarh.

The OAA budget of Rs 67,85,000, for the year 2022-23, was approved in council meeting. It was also decided that OAA will conduct a javelin throw competition on 7 August 2022 at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack in order to celebrate the first ever gold medal won by Neeraj Chopra in Tokyo Olympics on 7 August 2021.
