Cricket Advisory Committee of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has selected five former women cricketers as chairman and members of the Women Selection Committee as per the statutes in the constitution of the apex cricket body of the State. This was announced through a press release by OCA secretary Sanjay Behera today.

Gita Samantray has been made the chairman of the five-member committee. The four members are: Sasmita Pattnaik, Madhusmita Mohapatra, Sudhansubala Sahoo and Gangotri Behera.

The OCA secretary also announced that Purnedu Jena has been appointed as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the season 2022-23. Prior to joining OCA, Jena worked with Manipur and Nagaland Senior Men cricket teams.

Jena has also worked with National Cricket Academy and Zonal Cricket Academy for various age groups. He was also associated with Odisha Cricket Academy for different age group teams.

Jena is the only Level-1 qualified Strength & Conditioning Coach of BCCI from Odisha. Apart from being a Level-1 Strength & Conditioning Coach, he is also ASCA Level-2 certificate holder and was placed in the proficient group of trainers by NCA.
