Kalinga Aquatics Club (KAC) accorded a warm reception to the Odisha State Junior Women Swimming Squad on its return home today after putting up impressive performance in the first phase of the Khelo India Junior Women Swimming Series, which was held at Narmada Taran Pushkar in Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh on 20 and 21 August 2022.

The State squad secured a total of 15 top-three positions in the two-day competition. The 15 positions include five first positions, six second positions and four third positions.

Most of the office-bearers and members of KAC were present at the Biju Patnaik Internation Airport in Bhubaneswar to greet the State achievers of the Khelo India Junior Women Swimming Series and wish them greater success in the future.

“A bunch of young swimming talents of Odisha have achieved notable success for the first time in a national-level competition, introduced by the Ministry of Youth Services & Sports, Government of India. The achievement is a heart-warming feat and we at KAC came to the airport to show our love and affection to the young achievers,’’ said KAC General Secretary Amar Ranjan Mohanty.

KAC President In-charge Charushree Behura, Joint-Secretary Manoj Roy, Treasurer Subrat Kumar Das, Executive Committee Members Sujata Satparty, Lalitendu Pati, Lipsa Rout, Devashis Panda, Bijay Kumar Rout were present on the occasion.

General Secretary Mohanty thanked the Government of Odisha and the Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS) for providing excellent support all through the journey, that included coaching, travelling, accommodation, kit and competition.
