Cuttack Mayor Subash Singh, Deputy Mayor Damayanti Majhi, OBA President Gyana Ranjan Parida and Secretary Ashok Sahu handed over the trophies at the closing ceremony.
This is the first time that an international basketball tournament took place in Odisha. Howver, no player from Odisha was able to find a place in the 11-member Indian team.
The South Asian championship was organised by Odisha Basketball Association (OBA), under the aegis of Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and Departmentment of Sports & Youth Services, Govt of Odisha.
The championship was inaugurated by Odisha Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera, in the presence of hockey Olympian Dilip Tirkey, Olympian, Odisha Olympic Association Secretary Abhijit Paul, BFI Vice-President Ajeet Singh Rathore, OBA President Gyana Ranjan Parida and General Secretary Ashok Sahoo.
