Odisha and India woman sprint star Dutee Chand bagged one silver medal each in 100m and 4x100m relay events at the 31st Qosanov Memorial International Athletics Meet in Almaty, Kazakahstan today.

Dutee Chand, who has been selected in the 4x100m relay team for the Commonwealth Games 2022, clocked 11.49s in the 100m final to finish second behind Olga Safronova of Kazakhstan, who claimed gold in 11.40s. MV Jilna (India) came third in 11.61s. Earlier in the 100m heats, Dutee Chand produced a season-best 11.38s.

Dutee was part of the Indian 4x100m relay team that also finished second with a timing of 45.25 seconds. Other three members of the Indian relay team was not available immediately.

Hima Das and Srabani Nanda (Odisha), who were slated to compete in the 100m race, did not travel for the Almaty meet after visa complications. Overall, India won 14 medals on the concluding day, including seven golds.
