Odisha ace Kabir Hans added another first to his CV as he became the first tennis player from Odisha to win a title at the Fenesta Open National Hard Court Tennis Championship the 27th edition of which concluded at DLTA Complex in New Delhi today.

Bhubaneswar youth Kabir achieved the feat in mens doubles with Oges Theyjo Jayaprakash of Tamil Nadu as his partner. They beat West Bengal-Rajasthan combination of Ishaque Eqbal and Faisal Qamar in the final 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.

Earlier in the semifinals, the third-seeded pair if Kabir and Oges defeated Tamil Nadu pair of Ranjit Murugesan and Manish Suresh Kumar 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 10-5.

Kabir is currently pursuing 2nd Year BBA on sports quota at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. He has the reputation of winning four doubles titles in ITF Junior Tournaments.
