Nabrangpur, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Malkangiri, Bhadrak, Subarnapur, Odisha Poolice and Odisha Secretariat posted wins on the opening day of the 1st HAO Odisha State Senior Women Hockey Championship at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar today.

Hockey Association of Odisha (HAO) is organising the championship with the support of the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha and KIIT Deemed to be University. Over 350 players from 22 districts teams and two academies are participating in the Championship, which is scheduled to conclude on October 31.

The opening ceremony was grace by Odisha Athletics Association General Secretary Ashirbad Behera, KIIT Director-General (Sports) Dr Gaganendu Dash and Hockey India President Dr Dilip Tirkey.

Match 2: Nayagarh beat Puri 4-0.
Match 3: Ganjam beat Koraput 4-0.
Match 4: Malkangiri beat Rayagada 3-0.
Match 5: Bhadrak beat Kandhamal 10-0.
Match 6: Subarnapur beat Kendrapada 1-0.
Match 7: Odisha Police beat Angul 6-0.
Match 8: Odisha Secretariat beat Kalahandi 7-0.
