Odisha bagged three medals on the last day of the 2nd National Open Under-23 Athletics Championship, which was held at BR Yadav Stadium in Bilashpur, Chhatishgarh from 29 to 31 October 2022. The three medals include one gold, one silver and one bronze. Total 11 athletes represented Odisha in this championship.

Pragyan Prasanti Sahu secured the gold medal in women 400m hurdles, clocking 1:00.28 secs. The silver medal was claimed by Swadhin Kumar Majhi in mens high jump, clearing a height of 2.10 metre.

Manish Merel pocketed the bronze medal in womens long jump with an effort of 5.94 metres. All three medal winners belong to Odisha Reliance Foundation Athletics High Performance Centere, Bhubaneswar.

Other eight athletes who represented Odisha in this championship were: Monika Kujur, Sabita Toppo, Lalu Prasad Bhoi, Abhisekh Dalabehera, Nikhil Das, Aryan Ekka, Dondapati Murthy Jayaram and Abhinash Sahu.
