The selected players from the tournament will be called for a State Hockey Camp that would make up the Odisha State team competing in the Hockey India National Championships in 2023. This is the first time that Hockey Association of Odisha (HAO) is organising State Senior Men Championship after coming into existence earlier this year.
Altogether 30 district and institutional teams across the state, including many new ones such as Odisha Secretariat and SMS Hockey Academy participated in the championship. The six-day event featured a total of 30 matches, including the final.
The championship was inaugurated by Olympian and Odisha Hockey Promotion Council Chairman Dilip Kumar Tirkey. Odisha Sports & Youth Services Department Joint-Secretary Sailendra Kumar Jena, KIIT Sports Director Genera Dr Gaganendu Dash and National Centre of Excellence (Kolkata) Regional Director R Vineet Kumar were present on the occasion.

September 12: Ganjam beat Balasore 8-0, Jagatsinghpur beat Angul 2-0, Gajapati beat KIIT & KISS 2-1, Sundargarh Kendrapara 6-0, Bargarh beat Balangir 5-0, Subarnapur beat Bhadrak 5-0, Sambalpur beat Odisha Secretariat 6-2.
