Odisha bagged a total of 52 medals in the 33rd East Zone Junior Athletics Championship, which was held at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna (Bihar) from 10 to 12 September 2022. The 52 medals featured 20 gold, 19 silver and 13 bronze.
Aryan Ekka, Nikhil Kumar Sahoo, Ommkar Prasad Nanda, Merymukta Soreng and Sabita Toppo were top achievers for Odisha, winning two gold medals each. Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar-based Reliance Foundation Odisha Athletics High Performance Centre claimed that its trainees have secured as many as 31 medals for the State.
