Fighting half-century by Alipsa Biswal and a three-wicket haul by SB Lorence helped Odisha beat Bengal by eight runs in their fourth Group-A match of the BCCI Womens U-19 One-Day Trophy Cricket Tournament at Daly College Ground in Indore, Madhya Pradesh today.

This was the third win for Odisha, who earlier beat Sikkim and Mizoram by 225 and 334 runs respectively. Put into bat by Bengal captain Sneha Gupta, Odisha rode on a half-century by Alipsa Biswal (54 off 106 balls, 7x4) to compile a competitive total of 172 for nine.

Suchismita Panda (38), Pujarani Das (28) and captain Tanmayee Behera (27) also made notable contributions. In reply, Bengal were bowled out for 164 in 47 overs. SB Lorence was most successful Odisha bowler, bagging three wickets for 35 runs, while Puja Yadav picked up two for 24.
