Host Odisha suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Telangana in their third Group-V match of the 76th Senior Men National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy at Capital High School Ground in Bhubaneswar today.

This was the first defeat for Odisha, who had won their first two matches by big margin, trouncing Andaman & Nicobar 7-0 and Pondicherry 5-0. Solaimalai N scored the crucial goal for Telangana in the 29th minute to help them register their second win in the group.

In two other Group-V matches of the day, Sikkim beat Pondicherry 2-1 at Capital High School Ground and Meghalaya trounced Andaman & Nicobar 9-0 at OSAP 7th Battalion Ground. Odisha will next meet Sikkim on Decembe 30.
