After this match, India and England were tied for the top spot in the pool with four points each. But with a goal difference of five, England are better place than India, who have a goal difference of two.
Earlier in the day, Spain rode on a brace each by Marc Reyne and Marc Miralles to outclash debutants Wales 5-1 in another Pool-D match.
