Odisha girls won the silver medal at the Sub-junior (Under-14) National Rugby Sevens Championship, after losing to Bihar 25-0 in the final at IIT Gandhinagar in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today. A total of 26 States and Union Territories participated in the two-day championship.

Odiha girls reached the final, beating Maharashtra 10-0 in quarterfiinals and West Bengal 10-5 in the semifinals. Earlier at the league stage, Odisha girls won three matches to qualify for quarterfinals. They beat Delhi 5-0, Chhattisgarh 15-0 and Telangana 10-0.

Bihar bagged a double, winning both the boys and girls titles. Odisha girls team was consisted of 12 players. Odisha woman international Hupi Majhi was the coach of the State team.
