A nine-member all-male Odisha squad bagged three medals in the 12th National Junior & Sub-Junior Para Athletics Championship, which was held at Marida Sports Complex in Nadiad, Gujarat from 27 to 29 January 2023. The three medals included one gold, one silver and one bronze.

Satyanarayan Jena won the gold medal in under-17 men T46 shot put event with an effort of 8.18 metres on January 28. Abhinash Soura was a multiple medal winner, securing one silver and one bronze in under-19 mens age group on January 28.

Soura captured the silver in T13 100 metre sprint with a timing of 13.77 seconds and the bronze in long jump with a leap of 4.59 metres. The Odisha squad was fielded by Para Sports Association of Odisha (PSAO). Paralympian Markanda Reddy accompanied the squad as coach.
