  Cuttack-A emerge Kalahandi Cup 2022 champions

Cuttack-A emerged champions in the Kalahandi Cup Senior Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament, defeating Bhubaneswar-A by 51 runs on the second and last day of the two-day final at Bidanasi Ground in Cuttack today. Subham was the main architect of the Cuttack-A victory, bagging six wickets for 50 runs.

The tournament started with the preliminary one-day (50 over) matches with white ball from April 9 to May 6, featuring 37 teams. Among the 37 teams, the top six finishers along with another Rest of Odisha teams qualified for the 12-team super league.
 

The super league matches were first played with white ball in T20 format from August 5 to 25, followed by red-ball multi-day format from November 16 to 30. Out of the 12 super league teams, Cuttack-A and Bhubaneswar-A qualified for the finals.

Odisha Advocate General Ashok Parija graced the closing as chief guest. Also present on the occasion were: Football Association of Odisha Secretary Asirbad Behera, Odisha Cricket Association Secretary Sanjay Behera.

RESULT (Final match): Cuttack-A 208/10 in 56 overs (Bikram Kishor Samal 53*, Anil Parida 49, Siddharth Sinha 30, Aravinda Singh 24; Asis Pradhan 3/22, Ansuman Bej 3/88, Basanta Mohanty 2/19) beat Bhubaneswar-A 157/10 in 55.3 overs (Anurag Sarangi 38, Sarans Kumar 29, Debasish Samantray 27; Subham Nayak 6/50, Jamala B Mohapatra 4/66) by 51 runs.
