Jigyanshu Sahoo, Jigyanshu Pradhan, Urja Verma and Swetapadma Dalai won multiple titles in the 28th Inter-District & Odisha State Table Tennis Championships, which concluded at the TT Academy-cum-Indoor Hall in Angul today.

Cuttack boy Jigyanshu Sahoo clinched a treble, bagging the three titles in under-15, under-17 and under-19 singles events, while Jigyanshu Pradhan (Puri), Urja Verma (Cuttack) and Swetapadma Dalai (Bhubaneswar) claimed a double each.

Jigyanshu Pradhan won his two titles in under-11 and unber-13 boys singles events. Urja emerged champion in under-13 and under-15 girls singles categories, while Swetapadma secured top honours in under-17 and under-19 girls singles sections.

AG Odisha paddlers Mainak Das and Neha Kumari were crowned men and women singles champions respectively. The four-day championship was organised by Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA).

Anugul Collector Siddhartha Shankar Swain graced the closing ceremony as chief guest.
Anugul Sub-Collector Baitura Deep, OSTTA Secretary Rabindra Kumar Parida, Treasurer Nihar Ranjan Mishra and Angul DSO Akshaya Kumar Sitha were present on the occasion.

The championship was conducted by chief referee R Krishna Kumar and referees Sujit Kumar Ray, Tapan Kha, Jiban Ballav Samal, KSN Murty, KVP Rama Rao and K Chinna Rao.

All the champions, runner-ups, semifinalists and some quarterfinalists were awarded with cash prizes and trophies. Total cash prize awarded was more than Rs 1 lakh.

Under-11 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Pradhan (Puri) bt Subhankar Mahali (Cuttack) 3-0 (11-8, 11-8, 11-7).
Under-13 Girls Singles: Urja Verma (Cuttack) bt Sakshi Bhagat (Cuttack) 3-0 (11-8, 11-5, 11-8).
Under-13 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Pradhan (Puri) bt Jayastu Dasgupta (Khurda) 3-2 (9-11, 11-7, 8-11, 11-5, 11-7).
Under-15 Girls Singles: Urja Verma (Cuttack) bt Sakshi Bhagat (Cuttack) 4-2 (10-12, 11-7, 11-6, 11-7, 8-11, 11-7).
Under-15 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Sahoo (Cuttack) bt Anindya Anupam Das (Bhubaneswar) 4-2 (12-10, 11-7, 11-13, 10-12, 11-2, 11-5).
Under-17 Girls Singles: Swetapadma Dalai (Bhubaneswar) bt Urja Verma (Cuttack) 3-0 (11-6, 11-5, 11-6).
Under-17 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Sahoo (Cuttack) bt Anindya Anupam Das (Bhubaneswar) 4-2 (11-6, 11-4, 8-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-4).
Under-19 Girls Singles: Swetapadma Dalai (Bhubaneswar) bt MB Barsa Panda (Bhubaneswar) 4-0 (11-1, 11-1, 11-5, 11-1).
Under-19 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Sahoo (Cuttack) beat Sahil Suman Bhuyan (Cuttack) 3-2 (12-10, 11-5, 4-11, 8-11, 11-8).
Women Singles: Neha Kumari (AG Odisha) bt Swetapadama Dalai (Bhubaneswar) 4-2 (9-11, 11-4, 9-11, 14-12, 11-6, 11-9).
Men Singles: Mainak Das (AG Odisha) beat Tushar Chouhan (AG Odisha) 4-0 (17-15, 11-8, 11-7, 11-6).
