Indian Men Hockey Team continued their winning ways in the ongoing FIH Hockey Pro League with a scintillating 6-3 win against reigning World Champions Germany at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela today. For India, this was the second win in four days against Germay.
Abhishek and Karthi Selvan scored a brace each for India, while Jugraj Singh and Harmanpreet Singh added a goal each from the penalty corners. The three goals for Germany were scored by Tom Grambusch, Gonzalo Peillat and Malte Hellwig.
Going into the match as World No 4 after their previous two wins against Germany (3-2) and Australia (5-4) elevated them from World No 6 in the FIH World Ranking that was updated on March 12, India rode on their attacking skills to hand Germany their second loss on the trot.
With his brace, Karthi Selvam bagged the award as Player of the Match. He received the award from Odisha.

With this win, India reached the top of Pro League table with 17 points from seven games. Though India are level on points with Spain, their superior goal difference has made them table toppers, followed by Spain at the second place.
