  Nagesh Trophy Cricket: Majhi slams 96 in Odisha win

A 51-ball unbeaten 86 by captain Sukhram Majhi powered Odisha to a 59-run win over Haryana in their first Group-A Super-Eight of the 5th Nagesh Trophy National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind at Masters Cricket Ground in Hyderabad today.

Put into bat by Hariyana Deepak Malik, Odisha compiled an imposing total of 212 for three in 20 overs. Apart from the magnificent 86 by captain Majhi, Dhanapati Gouda, Lal Prasad Soren and Nakul Badanayak made notable contributions.

In reply Haryana were restricted to 153 for six in 20 overs. Rambir Singh was the top scorer with an unbeaten 57. Sukhram Majhi also proved to be the most successful Odisha bowler, picking up two wickets for 16 run. His outstanding allround performance fetched him the award as man of the match.

The eight Super-Eight teams are playing league matches in two groups and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. Odisha will next meet Chandigarh tomorrow.
