  Sr Women Natl Football: Odisha finish 2nd in Group-III

Former champions Odisha drew their fourth and last Group-III league match against hosts Goa 1-1 in the 27th Senior Women National Football Championship at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa today.

Odisha finished second in their group with eight points from four matches. Odisha won two matches and drew the other two. Himachal Pradesh emerged group toppers with 10 points. According to Football Association of Odisha joint-secretary Avijit Paul, Odisha has qualified for final round of the Senior Women National Football Championship.

Led by Subhadra Sahoo, Odisha won the two matches, defeating Andhra Pradesh 8-0 and Rajasthan 12-0. But in their second game, Odisha were held to a 3-3 draw by Himachal Pradesh. Malati Munda and Jasoda Munda were joint top scorers for Odisha with six goals each, including a hat-trick.
 

RESULT:

March 25: Odisha (Sumitra Hembram 17, Deepa Nayak 17, 28; Grace Lalrampari Hauhnar 43, Malati Munda 45, 45+2, 50; Jasoda Munda 53) beat Andhra Pradesh 8-0. Player of the Match: Jasoda Munda.

March 27: Odisha (Malati Munda 2, Jasoda Munda 20, Sumitra Hembram 32) drew with Himachal Pradesh (Riya Sharma 26, Poonam 53, Anju 70) 3-3. PoM: Poonam.

March 29: Odisha (Jasoda Munda 11, 58, 90+4, 90+6; Malati Munda 23, 33; Bannya Kabiraj 45+3, 72; Niketa Bishi 52, Bharati Das 57, Srijana Tamang 71, Sumitra Hembram 80) beat Rajasthan 12-0. PoM: Jasoda Munda.

April 2: Odisha (Satyabati Khadia 65) drew with Goa (Karen Estrocio 45) 1-1. PoM: Karen Estrocio.
