Balangir district bagged five gold, two silver and one bronze medals to emerge overall champions in the inaugural edition of the All Odisha Inter District Lawn Bowls Championships, which was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack from 1 to 3 April 2023.
JSM Commerce College, Balangir finished overal runners-up, winning one gold and two silver medals. They were followed by Kendrapara with one gold, one silver and one bronze.
State Lawn Bowling Association (SBAO) organized the three-day championship with the support of the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha. Around 270 players from 17 districts participated in the championship.
DSYS Joint-Secretary Sailendra Jena graced the opening ceremony of the championship in the presence of Bowlig Federation of India (BFI) Secretary General Lokinder Singh, SBAO President Ananga Udaya Singh and General Secretary Sumit Ranjan Purohit.
State Sports Department (DSYS) OSD Sonali Chand was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.

Men Singles: 1. Sk Abujalal (Kendrapara), 2. Narsingh Rana (Bolangir), 3. Gyanaranjan Giri (Puri).
Women Singles: 1. Swetlana Bakshi (Balangir), 2. Dibya Jyoti Tudu (Vedic International, Sambalpur), 3. Parbati Maharana (Puri).
Men Pairs: 1. Balangir (Kailash Majhi, Sourav Ranjan Maharana), 2. JSM Commerce College (Pritishraj Padhan, Ashish Kumar Patra), 3. Kendrapara (Saroj Kumar Lugun, Sk Jarafat Ali).
Women Pairs: 1. Balangir District (Padmasini Putel, Roshni Sahu), 2. Bargarh (Arti Bhoi, Roji Naik), 3. Bhadrak (Suhana Parmin, Mamata Samal).
Men Triple: 1. Balangir (Narsingh Rana, Dinesh Nanda, Lalit Sharma), 2. JSM Commerce College (Pratyush Rajan Bhoi, Ajya Kumar Sahu, Om Pradhan), 3. Nuapada (Bishi Kesan Padhan, Binya Padhan, Shankar Bhawani Nag).
Women Triple: 1. Bargarh (Surya Bhoi, Bhawana Nag, Roji Naik), 2. Bhadrak (Parwana Begum, Rabiyah Firdosh, Sweeety Rana), 3. Balangir (Swetlana Bakshi, Rajeswari Seth, Rohini Naik).
Men Fours: 1. JSM Commerce College (Ashish Patra, Ajay Kumar Sahu, Pritish Raj Padhan, Om Padhan), 2. Balangir District (Sourav Ranjan Maharana, Lalit Sharma, Riku Naik, Kailash Majhi).
Women Fours: 1. Balangir (Shaina Naik, Bisnupriya Bohidar, Pratima Seth, Padmasini Putel), 2. Kendrapara (Dipti Rani Sahu, Jayasmita Das, Simismita Sethi, Sultana Begum), 3. Bhadrak (Suhana Parmin, Parwana Begum, Usharani Das, Mamta Behera).
