Odisha women swimmers secured second medal in the Thailand Age Group Swimming Championships with Shristi Upadhyay winning the bronze in 100m butterfly at the Aquatic Centre, Assumption University in Bangkok today.

Shristi finished third in the event with a personal best time of 1:04.42.  Earlier Odisha ace Pratyasa Ray had won the silver medal in woman 50m backstroke, clocking 31.73 seconds.

A 16-member squad from Bhubaneswar-based Odisha JSW Swimming High Performance Centre is representing Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) in this week-long international championship, which would conclude on April 11.

This is an international exposure competition for the swimmers and aims at helping them prepare for the upcoming swimming season in India. Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha has facilitated the Thailand tour of the squad.
