Abhishiktha Kaduluri became the fourth weightlifting medallist of Odisha at the 4th Khelo India Youth Games by winning a bronze medal in women 81 kg weight category at the Basketball Complex in Indore (Madhya Pradesh) today.
Abhishiktha finishied third in the event, lifting a total of 165 kg, which included 72 kg in snatch and 93 kg in clean & jerk. This was the fourth medal for Odisha in weightlifting. The four medals featured one silver and 3 bronze.
Abhishiktha is a stuent of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. She is a currently pursuing 2nd year BA Sociology on sports quota and training in the Khelo India Weightlifting Centre at KIIT University.
With the weightlifting bronze medal, Odisha stood 10th in the medal tally. Odisha now have a total of 29 medals, which features 10 gold, 7 silver and 12 bronze.
Maharashtra continued their stranglehold on the top position in the medal tally, finishing the day with a total of 53 gold, 53 silver and 47 bronze medals. Haryana and M.P remained in second and third position with 40 and 36 golds respectively.
