Odisha confirmed their place in the Super-Eight stage of the 5th Nagesh Trophy SNational T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind, defeating host Rajasthan by 28 runs in their fourth and last Elite Group-C match at Lawrence & Mayo Public Sschool ground in Ajmer, Rajasthan today. Odisha emerged group toppers, winning all of their four matches.
Put into bat, Odisha scored 223 for six in 20 overs. Captain Sukhram Majhi was the top scorer with a 36-ball 77 which featured 12 boundaries. He was well supported by Kalia Pradhan (46), Nakul Badanayak (29) and Lal Prasad Soren (23*).
In reply, Rajasthan folded up for 195 in 19.4 overs. Among successful Odisha bowers, Sukhram Majhi and Nakul Badanayak bagged three wickets each, while Tapan Kumar Gouda picked up two. Sukhram Majhi was declared as the Player of the Match for his brilliant allround performance.
The Super-Eight matches, semifinals and the final will be played in Hyderabad from 13 to 17 March 2023. As of now, on the basis of points and net run rate, Odisha have topped Group-A, which also includes Andha Pradesh, Haryana and winner of cross-over match between Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.
Group B includes Karnataka, Delhi Gujarat and winner of cross-over match between Jharkhand and winner of Group F.
