IAS officer Siddhartha Das took charge as the Director of the Department of Sports & Youth Severvices (DSYS), Government of Odisha today. After assuming charge, Das called on Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera and visited facilities at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar.

Before joining as State Sports Director, Das was working as Additional Secretary to Finance Department with the additional charge of Addition Director in the Directorate of Treasuries and Inspection.

Originally a senior Odisha Finance Service (OFS) officer, Das was promoted to a IAS-level post by the Union Government in the year 2020. He also worked as Directorate of Fisheries with additional charge of Managing Director, OPDC.

A Political Science Graduate from BJB College, Bhubaneswar, Das did MPhil on Mahima Dharma in the Delhi University and later cleared the State Financial Services.
